Hey TLBC Fans! We asked Emily Lau, founder of The Little Bra Company a few questions from what inspired her to start TLBC to what she likes to do when in Hong Kong. We especially like her summer plans!
-What inspired you to start The Little Bra Company (TLBC)?

I was a late-bloomer, but ever since I could wear a bra I became obsessed with finding a bra that gave me extra oomph. I spent years looking ridiculous wearing ill-fitting bras. That is, until a couple of years ago when I started working with some experts to design the perfect-fitting bra for my petite body type. After testing the product out on my petite friends, I launched The Little Bra Company in May 2007. I wanted to create TLBC to give women like me intimate apparel that not only fit their bodies better, but also made them feel feminine and sexy. Just because a woman is an A or B-cup, it doesn’t mean she can’t have cleavage or feel like a woman.
- Who do you design for?
I design for women like myself and my friends. I started with the petite woman in mind. The petite customer who struggles to find attractive lingerie that fits properly is the customer that I am determined to help. As the company has grown and expanded so has our customer base. Today, I design for a variety of women. The college-aged girl who is coming into her own and looking for a bra that fits yet is still stylish; the mother of three who is looking for a little lift after breastfeeding, and sometimes the occasional grandmother who has been searching all her life for the perfect-fitting bra.
Customer feedback has played an integral role in the growth and development of our line. Even though we specialize in petite and smaller sizes, I understand that not all petite body types nor pair of breasts are the same. Some breasts are slightly farther apart than others, some customers want more coverage under the arms, etc. Therefore, after listening to our customers’ issues, I do my best to design a collection with fit solutions while still giving customers a bra that is attractive.
-What sets you apart from other lingerie brands?
We are a brand that is specifically made for the petite body type. This goes beyond carrying smaller band sizes. Each of our bras are designed to maximize and flatter the petite frame. The cups, the bands, and the padding are each designed to shape and flatter petite shapes.
- What one piece from your collection are you never without?
I’m never without my Lucia! I can wear it under deep-v shirts and dresses as well as my t-shirts. Lately, I’ve been wearing it under sheer summer tops. The lace makes it pretty enough to peek through.
- What are your goals for the brand?
My dream is to have The Little Bra Company available to petite women worldwide. Therefore, I am working on making TLBC available in all major markets and a recognizable brand across the globe. We are also working on expanding into other categories like swimwear!
-How is lingerie received in the USA versus Hong Kong?
We have worked hard and built a strong brand in North America. With loyal customers and a great word of mouth, we are thrilled about how The Little Bra Company has grown in the West. However, in a very short time we have also gained a strong presence in Hong Kong . We are very excited about this, and are looking forward to continued expansion and success in this market.
-What’s your favorite thing to do in Hong Kong?
I love to shop (and eat)! A must–do whenever I am in Hong Kong is to visit all the independent boutiques and street markets. I always find clothes that fit me better in HK. I usually don’t even have to try it on!
- What is your favorite food/restaurant in Hong Kong?
My favorite restaurant is Ta Pantry Private Kitchen–and not just because my cousin is the chef.
I also can’t leave Hong Kong without having yeung zi gam lo (chilled mango, sago and pomelo dessert) from Hui Lau San.
- What are your summer plans?
I’m planning on traveling to Hong Kong!

- 是什麼啓發你當初成立The Little Bra Company (TLBC)?
我比較遲熟,但自從著上胸罩後,便對這種女性魅力著迷。可是花上數年的時間,仍穿著看上去可笑而且不合身的胸罩。直到幾年前,我跟這方面的專家一起合力研製適合身型如我一般嬌小女士的胸罩。在身型同樣嬌小的女性朋友身上測試過後,終於在2007年5月正式成立The Little Bra Company。我希望藉著 TLBC,能令女性這種貼身衣物合身之餘,感覺女性化而且性感。身型為A 或 B-cup的女性,不代表她不能擁有乳溝或自覺性感。
- 你為誰設計?
我為跟我自己及身型跟我一樣的朋友設計。我開始在腦海中想像著嬌小的女士,她們不斷搜尋具吸引力而合身的內衣,幫助她們便是我最初的創作動力。公司不斷發展,顧客羣同樣在增加。今日,我為各種各樣的女性設計內衣:剛感到自立的學生,希望能找到具自我型格的胸罩、已為人母的女性在授乳期後希望胸罩更具承托力,甚至是祖母級的女性但仍致力尋找合身的胸罩。
顧客的意見在公司的成長及系列的發展中佔很重要角式。雖然我們在細碼內衣方面尤其專業,但不是每種嬌小身型或胸部均一樣。有些女性的乳房距離較開,有些希望在臂下能覆蓋更多等等。因此,在聆聽顧客的意見後,我在設計上反映出來,希望能製做出解決這些問題,而同樣吸引的胸罩。
- 跟其他內衣品牌比較,TLBC 有何特別之處?
們是專為嬌小身型女士而設的品牌。這跟單純有出售細碼內衣的品牌不同。我們的設計本身就是為突顯嬌小身型的美麗之處。無論是胸杯、肩帶及胸墊都令嬌小的胸部更具輪廓及美感。
- 那一件是你自己設計系列中不能在生活中沒有的?
我不能沒有我的Lucia!無論外衣是 deep-v 襯衣或者連身裙,或者普通t-shirts都可以穿Lucia。近日,我甚至以Lucia配襯透薄的夏日 top,就算是被看到一點點漂亮蕾絲邊亦沒有問題。
- 品牌的目標是什麼?
我的夢想是 The Little Bra Company能在世界各地有售,令各地嬌小女性都垂手可得。所以,我現正努力在各主地市場增設售賣點,期望大家都可以認識TLBC。 我們亦正發展更多不同系列,例如泳衣!
- 在美國及香港的市場有何不同?
我們之前一直很努力,讓TLBC在北美擁有強大的品牌認知。憑著口碑及忠實顧客,我們很高興見到在西部地區的顯著增長。而在很短的時間內,香港顧客已認識我們的品牌,在興奮之餘,期待繼續增長及更成功打入本地市場。
- 你喜歡在香港做什麼?
我喜歡購物(及品嚐美食)!每次到香港必定會到各獨立的小店及露天市場購物。在香港的衣服更合我身,甚至可以不用試身!
- 在香港你最喜歡的餐廳及食物是什麼?
我最喜歡到Ta Pantry Private Kitchen –不單因為主廚是我的乾表妹
我每次離開香港前必定會食許留山的楊枝甘露
